This home was built for a first-time homeowner in Lemont. This customer owned their lot already but needed assistance getting a blueprint drawn, so we referred them over to our preferred architect to put their dreams on paper.
How it started
This client came as a referral to us from a former customer. During our first consultation, we learned this customer already had a blueprint in hand and they owned their .25-acre lot in a new subdivision in Lemont. This couple were first-time homeowners, getting to make their vision come true with this new build.
The house they had a plan for was a 3000 sqft, 2-story, 3 car garage home with all the amenities they wanted. One of the things that was different on this project than most, is the subdivision had an HOA. We not only had to go through the village for all required permits but also had to get the plans reviewed and approved by the HOA. Although this was different from the ordinary process we were used to, we managed to overcome the differences with no issues at all.
This house was styled with a full front porch, custom stained oak floors, white trim throughout, and different rooms that featured shiplap board on the walls for finishing touches. Books and reading were important to this customer, so we made them a custom bookshelf in the family room with a built-in sliding ladder. In addition to that, we built a nook desk for paperwork. The family room had a tall ceiling, while the 2nd floor had a catwalk which allowed you to enjoy the view of the family room below while walking upstairs. Entertaining guests was also important to this client, so the house we built has a large open floor plan with an upgraded kitchen for plenty of room for guests.
The Process:
This project was completed in just under 6 months. Overall the construction of this home had no issues at all. The clients had a clear vision of what they wanted in their home, and we were able to make their vision come to life.
The Result
This customer was more than satisfied with the way their new home turned out. It turned out to be more than enough space for everything they dreamt of.
